Garmin Ltd. Launches All-New Garmin Venu 2, Garmin Venu 2S with Updated Specifications and Features

Garmin Ltd., an American multinational technology company, has launched its new range of smartwatches, Garmin Venu 2 and Garmin Venu 2S, in the US. These new wearables come with premium activity tracking features like body battery, fitness age, stress tracking, and sleep scores. The watch also provides tips on how to focus on improving fitness age and also has a Health Snapshot feature that takes a survey of the vital functions of the body.

The smartwatch has 25 sport-specific workout modes, including high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and advanced strength-training mode on the new Garmin offerings. The new Garmin Venu 2 and Garmin Venu 2S are priced at $399.99. Currently, the Venu 2S is available in black, white, and grey silicone band options, with dial color options in silver and gold. Whereas Garmin Venu 2 is available in black and blue color silicone band options and has a stainless steel bezel.

The difference between the two watches is the dial size. Garmin Venu 2 has a 45mm dial, whereas Garmin Venu 2S has a 40mm dial size. Both Garmin Venu 2 and Venu 2S connect to the Garmin Connect app via Bluetooth. They support Wi-Fi connectivity and allow users to store up to 650 songs. The smartwatches have 25 preloaded sports modes, including running, walking, cycling, pool swimming, golf, and more.

 

Autonomous Truck Startup TuSimple becomes First Autonomous-Driving Company to Navigate Terrain between US and China

Autonomous truck startup TuSimple Holdings Inc. has scored a significant milestone as the company became the world's first autonomous-driving technology sector, with NASDAQ listing to go public by raising $1.35 billion. The firm got a nice premium for its first-to-market status, as it beat out names like Argo AI and Plus that are eyeing their listings. TuSimple is engaged in a more arduous battle to convince the world that it US-based company.

TuSimple's stock during the trading days surged after its NASDAQ debut. The company's share was priced at $40, higher than the earlier published range of $35 to $39. This showed the enthusiasm of investors across the globe about TuSimple's first-to-market status. The company has stated that it is all set to sign a development agreement with Volkswagen's Traton SE unit, which will help the company to focus on its organic growth.

TuSimple is a relatively attractive global customer purely based on a business standpoint. It has a solid series of alliances with major players, and the company is primarily focusing on the long-distance truck sector, which is simpler than autonomous cars. Its revenue has grown steadily in the last two years. From a purely financial and strategic standpoint, the company looks relatively solid.

Samsung Launches New Software Update That Converts Older Galaxy Phones Into IoT Devices

Samsung recently has launched a new software update that will allow its users and consumers to convert their older version of Galaxy smartphones to various types of Internet of Things (IoT) devices. This feature will be available for all Galaxy S, Note, and Z smartphones released from 2018 onwards and have Android 9 and above operating systems. The company has stated that more devices will be supported under this program in the future.

This program is known as 'Galaxy Upcycling at Home', and it is aimed at giving new life to older devices. Currently, in beta, Galaxy Upcycling at Home will be available in South Korea, the US, and the UK first, reports ZDNet. The company further said that it would research the usage in three countries and support the technical verification process, and then provide the service to additional countries later.

The users can use the SmartThings Labs feature on their already existing app to choose how they want to convert or use these older devices. The devices can be turned into smart home devices like a pet care solution, home care solution, light sensor, and many more. The older devices can also be converted into TV remotes to turn on or off the TV and manage channels in the preset standard.

 

NVIDIA Outperforms the Latest Artificial Intelligence Benchmarking Tests

In the third round of submission, MLCommons recently released the results for MLPerf Inference. It is a set of standard AI inference benchmarking tests using seven different applications. These seven tests are predominantly based on the range of workloads that include computer vision, medical imaging, recommender systems, and natural language processing. The test mainly measures how fast the neural network can process data from each application.

In the results announced, the NVIDIA A100 GPU was the highest performing accelerator in each application. The company submitted each and every offline and server data scenario. It outperformed the much-impressive Qualcomm AI 100 in every aspect and also by an extensive margin. NVIDIA's edge GPUs - A100 PCIe and A100 SXM-was also introduced. The company submitted Jetson Xavier NX and Jetson AGX Xavier with a higher performance than the NX version. 

NVIDIA's all-new A100 has 80 GB of memory, and it provides over two terabytes per second of memory bandwidth, which is the highest for any AI-based company. With enhanced power, it is known that the applications cannot fully utilize A100 capabilities. It separated the GPU into seven isolated instances to create the biggest MIG. Along with Qualcomm, Centaur also had submissions. Again, NVIDIA dominated the performance landscape in every case.
