BP Announces First Delivery of Offset LNG Cargo to CPC Corporation

BP has announced that it has delivered its first carbon offset LNG cargo to CPC Corporation, Taiwan. The cargo arrived to Yung An terminal in Taiwan. This is BP's first delivery of carbon offset LNG in the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to this, the company had made a delivery to Sempra LNG at Energia Costa Azul terminal in Mexico in July 2021.

Globally the demand for LNG has grown rapidly, driving the need for diversified offerings in this segment. BP aims to address this.

“Natural gas has a key role to play in ‎getting the world to net zero. This new offer further demonstrates our determination ‎to remain one of the world’s leading and most innovative LNG suppliers. The ‎development of a clear and reliable methodology for quantifying the carbon intensity ‎of our LNG supply chain is an important step in helping our customers deliver their ‎sustainability goals and supports our ambition to help the world get to net zero," said Carol Howle, EVP of bp trading & shipping.

BP aims to become net zero by 2030 by removing its reliance on carbon credits.
