BP Announces First Delivery of Offset LNG Cargo to CPC Corporation


BP has announced that it has delivered its first carbon offset LNG cargo to CPC Corporation, Taiwan. The cargo arrived to Yung An terminal in Taiwan. This is BP's first delivery of carbon offset LNG in the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to this, the company had made a delivery to Sempra LNG at Energia Costa Azul terminal in Mexico in July 2021.

Globally the demand for LNG has grown rapidly, driving the need for diversified offerings in this segment. BP aims to address this.

“Natural gas has a key role to play in ‎getting the world to net zero. This new offer further demonstrates our determination ‎to remain one of the world’s leading and most innovative LNG suppliers. The ‎development of a clear and reliable methodology for quantifying the carbon intensity ‎of our LNG supply chain is an important step in helping our customers deliver their ‎sustainability goals and supports our ambition to help the world get to net zero," said Carol Howle, EVP of bp trading & shipping.

BP aims to become net zero by 2030 by removing its reliance on carbon credits.

Announcement regarding new updates and games are expected in Sony’s 2021 Showcase event

Sony, a popular name in the gaming segment, has recently made an announcement regarding its new PlayStation 5 event. The upcoming event is scheduled to be held on September 9, and the event will focus on showing what the company has been working on. The event is online-only, and it will be live-streamed on 1 PM PT and is expected to be for around 40 minutes. Gaming enthusiasts are eagerly looking forward to this event because some of the big names in the segment will be making important announcements regarding holiday releases and beyond.

Sony has confirmed that there will not be any announcement regarding the PS VR, but the community can expect many new and great games from small and large developers. In the previous event, the company had solely focused on unveiling PS5, and no specific deets were released regarding what can be surely expected in this year’s event. Verizon Launches New Private Mobile Cloud Computing Services for Businesses with Microsoft Azure

In a recent press meet, Verizon, America's leading multinational telecommunications conglomerate, has announced that its most anticipated on-premises, private edge compute solution will now be available for its users. Verizon 5G Edge, in collaboration with Microsoft Azure Stack Edge, has launched this brand new cloud computing platform which will now make storage services easy.

The new cloud computing service will provide excellent customer premises for enterprises with increased efficiencies, robust security, and the low lag and high bandwidth feature required for various applications that primarily involve computer vision, AR & VR, and machine learning. With on-premise 5G and edge computing, enterprises can efficiently process information and improve actionable data-driven insights to gain end-to-end visibility across all processes.

Verizon is also working on 5G applications to leverage 5G Edge investments and provide its customers with tangible, material automation enhancements. FedEx Express launches FedEx® International Connect Plus (FICP) for AMEA

FedEx Express has launched FedEx® International Connect Plus (FICP), a e-commerce shipping service that will bring together competitive speed with affordable prices in the AMEA (Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa).

“Building a robust e-commerce ecosystem is a top priority for us at FedEx. With FICP, we have an ideal solution for businesses to meet heightened expectations of consumers for reliable, and economical delivery services,” said Kawal Preet, president of the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (AMEA) region at FedEx Express.

This new service has been launched for just the AMEA to start off and will improve FedEx Express' cross-border e-commerce capabilities to meet the customers' need of diversified, cost-effective solutions.

"With FICP, e-tailers across ten markets including Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, mainland China, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand are now empowered to provide their customers with an international shipping solution with prices that offer value-for-money, while ensuring shipments will be delivered within 1 to 5 business days within AMEA," mentioned the FedEx Express press statement.

India-based Voice AI Company Skit Raises $23M in Series B

Bengaluru, India-based Skit has announced that it has raised $23 million in its Series B funding round. The company had recently rebranded from Vernacular.ai. The round was led by WestBridge Capital with participation from Kalaari Capital and Exfinity Ventures, Angelist syndicate led by Aaryaman Vir Shah from Prophetic Ventures and Letsventure syndicate led by Sense AI.

The Series B funding will be used to fuel the "next level of growth and product evolution" of Skit. The company will use the funding to improve its sales and marketing, delivery capabilities, and R&D.

The leading voice AI company was founded in 2016 by IIT Roorkee alumnus.

Commenting on the capital raise, Sourabh Gupta, CEO and Co-founder of Skit said, "This investment comes when we are making strategic inroads into the US and Southeast Asian markets. Clients and investors alike have recognized the uniqueness and superiority of our product and continue to show confidence in our growth path.

The global voice customer service market is valued at about $300 million, and Skit will look to address this market through its Vernacular Intelligent Voice Assistant (VIVA), an AI-based voice assistant platform.

Microsoft might unveil Surface Duo 2 phone in its upcoming launch event

Tech giant Microsoft is all set to host a Surface hardware event this month on 22nd, and the community is looking forward to seeing the launch of new devices that are based on the new Windows 11 OS. The event is virtual, and it will be held less than two weeks from the official launch date of the new Windows version. The tech giant is yet to reveal the number of devices that are scheduled to be released, but several rumors suggest that The company will reveal the Surface Duo 2 smartphone.

The company is also expected to release Surface Book 3 and Surface pro with a fresher design. The event for Surface is scheduled to take place at 11 am ET, and the details regarding the same were added to the company’s events microsite. As reported by Verge, the tech giant has started to send out invites for the online-only event where it will talk about the latest Windows 11. Reports make it clear that the design language for the Surface Duo 2 will be the same as its predecessor, but major changes are expected at the software level for the new device. The successor of the Surface Book 3 is also reported to make its debut in the event.

 

Leaked user manual indicates that the new Galaxy S21 FE will not have microSD support

Samsung is gearing to launch its new Galaxy S21 FE on September 8. Just a few days ahead of the official launch, a user manual in regards to the new device has surfaced online, and it has revealed some vital information. Samsung Galaxy S21 FE doesn’t come with an SD card slot, and the manual also didn’t mention anything about it. The design language of the S21 FE will be similar to the S21, and the only key differentiator is the metal casing. SamMobile has reported that the S21 FE might not have microSD support because the user manual obtained by the publication makes no mention of it. However, the user manual confirms that the new device comes with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, a high refresh rate display, an in-display fingerprint.
 
The S12 FE will also feature reverse wireless charging, Wireless DeX pay, and Dolby Atmos. A charger will not be included in the box, and users are expected to buy it separately if they don’t have a Type-C charger. A headphone jack is also missing from S21 FE. Users must buy an adapter in order to use a wired earphone, or they must opt for Bluetooth audio devices. The design printed on the manual makes it clear that the new phone will inherit the look of its preceder.
