Asian cancer hospitals to introduce Digital biopsies by the end of 2020

National Academy of Sciences has reported the development of a digitized biopsy, one that could be conducted in cancer clinics around the country. The scientists from the University of Illinois at Urban-Champaign have designed this model which is an alternative diagnostic tool.
"The advantage is that no stains are required, and both the organization of cells and their chemistry can be measured. Measuring the chemistry of tumor cells and their microenvironment can lead to better cancer diagnoses and a better understanding of the disease," said lead investigator Rohit Bhargava, a professor of bioengineering and the director of the Cancer Center at Illinois. This hybrid microscope technology will easily allow upgrading the image with better resolution.
The technique will give out infrared capabilities to the standard optical Microscope. This technique is also combined with machine learning algorithms, which will outperform the tedious and often subjective method of how the cancer diagnosis is done. The researchers hope that their innovation will allow the improvement of cancer cells. It is an intriguing invention in terms of pathology diagnoses. It could help the physicians to speed up the wait for results and will also provide an ‘all-digital’ solution for cancer pathology.

Data Analytics for Premier Badminton League carried out by a Hyderabad based startup

The recently concluded Premier Badminton League had many new features during their broadcast than the previous editions did. Thanks to a Hyderabad based startup, Matchday AI, which specializes in sports data analytics, the viewers had more data and visuals to enjoy during the matches.

Among the many features, the two key highlights during the broadcast were the distance covered by each player and the heat map, which indicates the action area of a player. Matchday co-founder, K Harsha Vardhan, had pointed out towards the difficulty in collecting data during a sporting event and how their technologies and solutions are automating data collection. The company had sent teams in all the three cities – Chennai, Lucknow and Hyderabad – that would be present in the production room and process live video feed and generate data that went live on air.

Currently, the company’s service cover only two sports – badminton and football and hopes to add more sports events in the near future. The company is also eyeing tie-ups with training academies. The inputs given by the firm’s technology will help the players improve their game and build better strategies. Another co-founder, Ganesh Yaparala, also pointed out towards the need of capturing videos along with providing analytics to game zones and training academies. The company is currently in talks with a broadcaster in China.

IoT Era

What is IoT – Internet of Things
  • It is the network of items, which enables these objects to collect and exchange data.
  • A platform to create an opportunity between physical world and computer based systems to result improved efficiency and benefits.
  • It reduces Human Intervention
  • British entrepreneur Kevin Ashton first coined the term in 1999
  • Also called as Machine2Machine Communication (M2M)
Enough of it’s history..
So, let’s find out How IoT helps in our Daily Activities
