Taiwan Export Orders Surge Again in July for the Consecutive 17th Month


 A poll conducted by Reuters indicated that the country’s export orders are showing an upward trend in July for the 17th time in a row. The Covid-19 pandemic continues to rattle the world as the waves startle nations one by one. Recently, the second wave in India wreaked havoc. People died in scores. Now, the Delta variant wave has gripped the entire Australian nation. Immediately after India’s disastrous second wave, Indonesia had witnessed a rising number of cases.

However, the pandemic has unleashed opportunities that were unknown in the pre-pandemic world. From online shopping to work-from-home, the pandemic has knocked at many uncharted doors that treasured endless opportunities. The large corporations once making work-from-office mandatory see it a threat now. Online classes, for instance, is revolutionizing EdTech market. These opportunities were hanging around, but went unnoticed until the pandemic hit the world last year.
Several countries witnessed record-high growth in their respective markets as the above mentioned opportunities were unleashed with full force. Taiwan, for instance, witnessed a record-high growth in July. The country’s export orders rose for the 17th consecutive month.

The growth was buoyed by strong sustained demand for technology products that people used during the lockdowns. As mentioned above, millions of people worldwide work from home and take classes online need technology latest products to operate efficiently.

UnionPay International to Launch Tajikistan’s First Contactless E-Wallet

UnionPay International (UPI) has announced that it is partnering with International Bank of Tajikistan to launch the country’s maiden contactless e-wallet. This will make UnionPay the very first payment brand to offer mobile contactless payment services in the country.

This expansion into Tajikistan will mean that UnionPay mobile payments will now reach to 10 million. UnionPay’s standard e-wallets are present in over 20 countries and regions, including Macao, South Pacific, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia. The company has rolled out an astounding ten e-wallets in the second quarter of this year.

UPI is continuously applying its technology, specifications and market experience of the Chinese mainland mobile payments to the international market successfully. It offers a variety of wallet products such as the UnionPay App, mobile QuickPass and QR code e-wallets outside the Chinese mainland. Users can enjoy diverse payment experiences with a scan, tap or click.

“The e-wallet launched in Tajikistan reflects these features. Local POS terminals supporting UnionPay QuickPass account for over 80% of the total, and the International Bank of Tajikistan has also issued a large number of UnionPay cards within the country over the past three years,” said UPI’s press release.

Luye Pharma Signs a Distribution Agreement with Zuellig Pharma

Luye Pharma Group has announced that it has signed an agreement with Zuellig Pharma, which will give the latter exclusive rights to distribute its central nervous system drugs Seroquel (quetiapine fumarate, immediate release) and Seroquel XR (extended release formulation) in Malaysia and Brunei.

Automobile Giant Tata Motors Opens Eight New Showrooms in Ahmedabad

 

In line with its retail acceleration strategy, India's automobile giant Tata Motors inaugurated eight strategically located showrooms in and around Ahmedabad. These new showrooms will embrace the brand new and modern retail identity, and it will be hosting the company's entire range of passenger vehicles, including its electric vehicles portfolio.  The new outlets of Tata Motors are situated in prime locations in these upcoming exclusive pockets, which will provide an enhanced customer experience with and quick turnaround time.

This expansion drive comes on the back of a stellar performance in the passenger vehicles market in India. Tata Motors stated that the company registered its highest ever sales in nine years and Q4 FY21. In FY21, the business registered its highest-ever annual sales in eight years while posting a growth of 69 percent versus FY20. Tata Motors also recorded a strong growth of 342 percent in Q1FY22, over Q1FY21.

The company further added that with the recent introduction of the new EV policy, the company expects to emerge as one of the largest EV states in the country, and it will constantly work hard to expand the network and product portfolio that will help cater to the state government's commitment and emphasis on green mobility.

Coca-Cola’s sees a Spike in Its Q2 Growth in Sparkling Soft Drinks

Beverage giant Coca-Cola Co. has raised its outlook for the year, as rising Covid-19 vaccination rates have paved the way for reopening restaurants, stadiums, and movie theaters, which in turn boosts the sales of soft drinks around the globe. Coca-Cola's sales plummeted in 2020 when dining and entertainment venues were closed due to a pandemic. The company's revenue recently soared above levels from year earlier and topped revenue in the same period in 2019.

The company's net revenue for the quarter was $10.1 billion; it saw a sharp rise from a year ago and up slightly from $10 billion in the same period in 2019. Coke now expects organic revenue growth of 12 to 14 percent in 2021.  It projects per-share earnings will grow between 13and 15 percent this year, a growth rate between high single digits and low double digits.

The company remains very clear-eyed about the potential spikes in some markets due to the new strain of the virus—Delta variant, but overall it sees for a return to normalcy. The company's executives stated that while consumption in the US has rebounded, but the country isn't yet past the pandemic. Therefore Coca-Cola is trying to boost manufacturing and production as early as possible.

Ahold Delhaize USA begins operations at its new distribution center in Mauldin, S.C.

Ahold Delhaize USA (ADUSA), a retail giant, has begun its operations at its new distribution center in Mauldin, S.C. ADUSA Supply Chain, the retailer's distribution arm, has stated that the first shipments at the Mauldin DC went out to 56 Food Lion supermarkets. Dairy, fresh, and frozen products were the first items to begin shipping from the facility. Once the company sets up the fully operational unit, the DC will fulfill grocery, fresh, frozen, health, and beauty care shipments for around 200 grocery retail stores.

Ahold Delhaize USA has purchased the Mauldin DC from C&S in May. The transaction halted from the retailer's June 2020 acquisition of 62 Bi-Lo and Harveys stores from Southeastern Grocers. Also, ADUSA is planning to open its Supply Chain market in DC in Manchester, Conn., which will supply Ahold Delhaize USA's Stop & Shop.

The company has stated that it's actively hiring in Mauldin and 17 other network locations. To date, more than 250 associates have been hired and onboarded at the Mauldin campus, which will employ more than 800 in the local community. The company said it is seeking full-time employees for driver, selector, forklift operator, sanitation, and facilities maintenance roles.

Digital marketing firm Gozoop Group successfully acquires Stratton Communications

Gozoop Group, an independent digital marketing firm, which offers services such as brand consultancy, social media marketing, influencer marketing, design, and online reputation management to advertisers in a recent press meet, has announced that it has completed the acquisition of a digital agency, Stratton Communications. Stratton will be rebranded as Sm(all); the firm will focus more on challenger brands within the group and will be aiming to expand its market to its target audience.

The company has stated that Sm(all) will provide a strategic advantage to think, act, and evolve like a lean startup at scale. It will operate as an independent agency that will help advertisers achieve a new set of audience engagement through its innovative digital marketing campaigns that are primarily on short-form content platforms.

Sm(all) works with the various brand across different categories such as pharmaceutical company Cipla, hospitality chain Chalet Hotels, real estate firm SILA Group, Opium Eyewear, and Mattel Toys. The company will work to improve its marketing and advertising business by highlighting the need for a hybrid digital media company, and the agency will aim to fulfill all the marketing needs of its clients.

CEI announces to share market data with Maine seafood industry

The USA-based Coastal Enterprises Inc. (CEI), in a recent announcement, has stated it has acquired the Maine seafood industry to help to expand its businesses and sales. CEI also plans to share competitive national seafood industry sales information and other crucial data with the company.  The sales information consists of various broadline sales data for key species harvested in Maine, with regional and metropolitan markets in the US.

CEI further added that it had purchased the data as part of its Maine Seafood Marketing Initiative, a pilot effort to establish a brand-new marketing association for its seafood products.
