 Custom Software Development Important?

These days businesses are coming through a scalable digital transformation adopting innovative technologies in various business automation software apps. The choice of a particular type of software depends on lots of factors that include:

        Pains and problems the business struggle with

        Business industry and specialization

        Aims and tasks of the software solution

        Size and revenue of the company

Before implementing any type of business software application, it is pivotal to clearly understand why your company needs it, what issues it will resolve, what benefits it brings for your employees, daily operations, company management, annual revenue, and other factors.

Currently, you will hardly find any business organization that wouldn't use at least software solutions - ready-made apps, customs solutions, SaaS products, and so on. However, market-available business software often does not correspond to the needs and expectations of these companies as a software product with a single functionality cannot fit all businesses perfectly well.

Therefore, in this post, we would like to discuss what benefits custom software development actually can bring into your business and how to start the development right away.

Benefits of Custom Software

Compared to the software solution available on market, custom software development takes into account your specific case - your business problems, needs, and requirements. Here we have collected the top benefits that will prove to you that custom software development is important for your business growth and capacity:

        All your technical and other requirements will be considered in the solution that guarantees 100% match to all your internal process and business needs which is impossible choosing the ready-made software;

        Custom software is a great way you can invest your money to get profit to your business growth and development, custom software development is much more beneficial than paying for the available on the market solutions;

        Custom software development entails the best security practices required for your specialization, you can be sure that your private data is highly protected thanks to data security regulations and compliances;

        Ready-made software solutions usually have poor technical support and slow reaction to many bugs and errors that may occur to your solution, custom software development implies continuous support of the solution after the release;

        A custom business app can be smoothly integrated with the existing internal system eliminate any errors and problems with its functionality and feasibility;

        Custom software solutions are scalable and can grow simultaneously with your company, there is no need to look for additional solutions as you can always upgrade your custom business app.

The flow of custom software development

The development process of business solutions is quite similar. It commonly starts with the discovery stage that entails the deep analysis of your company processes and workflows, researching the competitors and what type of software they use, defining the core problems that can be overcome with the implementation of custom software tools. This development stage is pivotal as it helps to define the core specifications for the project for the further development steps.

Planning

As the project scope is clearly defined, all next steps taken by the development team should be planned, discussed with the client, and documented. Due to the Agile methodology that we follow in GBKSOFT, the entire project is split into smaller parts of functionality: sprints-epics-user stories. It provides the precise following the initial plan, testing each piece of functionality and deciding whether it needs improvements or the developers can proceed.

Design concept

Solution design is not only about the colors and schemes but it must be intuitive, convenient, user-friendly, unique, and modern. The business software system will be accessible by all your employees from different departments, of different ages and skill levels. You need to ensure that your solution will be easy to onboard and use for all areas of your company.

Writing code

Due to the technical specifications defined in the discovery stage, the development team decides what technologies should be used to execute the set tasks and make the solution functionality highly operating. Thus, the developers proficient in the needed programming languages start writing clean and unique code of your custom software development.

Testing

Debugging and testing the feasibility of your software solution must be conducted before the project release. If you develop MVP, you should think of looking for first test users to see their feedback related to the efficacy of your software solution and make improvements before the full deployment.

Maintenance

Continuous support is required for any type of custom software in order to make regular functionality upgrades due to user feedback, the latest trends and demand in the industry, and so on. It is advisable to entrust this process to the development team that has built the solution from scratch.

Entrust your custom software development to GBKSOFT

The lawmakers requested gaming companies in the US to make kids-friendly designs

preventing cybercrimes, online services, software, technology, the silicon review

Lawmakers in the U.S. have urged gaming companies to promote child-friendly designs for their games. Many major gaming companies like Sony, Walt Disney, Epic Games, Microsoft, Nintendo, and Niantic were called upon to protect kids from schemes that are predatory. The lawmakers have also asked the game creators to comply with U.K.’s AADC for the U.S. The letter had stated that it is important for Congress to act with urgency and bring in strong privacy laws for the teens and children of the 21st century.

As the lawmakers continue to work towards that goal, the companies were requested to consider the teens and children living in the U.S. to enhance privacy and comply with the AADC. Last year, the data privacy regulators from the U.K. had introduced a new set of design guidelines for the providers of digital services to follow, and it was aimed at safeguarding children under the age of 18 from committing cybercrimes. The AADC code has 15 regulations that must be followed while designing and developing online services to protect the interest of the child. The lawmakers have also reached out to cover websites that children often frequent to promote data privacy.

Microsoft Unveils Its First Beta Version for Windows 11

Microsoft has released the first beta of Windows 11, and this version will be available for those who have enrolled in its Windows Insider Program. Until today, getting access to Windows 11 was tedious as the users had to install the Dev Preview, which Microsoft says is meant for "highly technical users" as it has rough edges. According to Microsoft, the beta release is less volatile, with builds being validated by Microsoft.

To install the beta version, you will need a compatible computer. The hardware will work with the next version of Windows. The company has said that it will be paying close attention to how well the 7th Gen Intel and AMD Zen 1 CPUs will be working during the testing period so that it will be possible t to run the beta on those computers. The beta release is good news for those who have installed the Dev preview as it helps them get their hands on Windows 11 as soon as possible.

For those who are still running Windows 10 but want to join the beta, you can register for Microsoft's beta program on its official website. Microsoft says that the Beta Channel releases are highly stable than Dev Channel. And it is comparatively easy to switch to the latest Beta channel as it only requires a quick reboot.

Alphabet Launches Brand New ‘Moonshot’ for Robotics Software

Google's parent Alphabet recently has launched a new "moonshot" project to develop software for robotics, which can be used in a wide range of industries. The new unit, Intrinsic, will very soon become an independent Alphabet company to power their industrial partners to advance their work and to help them make everything from solar panels to cars. Also, Intrinsic is working to improve industrial robotics' creative and economic potential for several businesses, entrepreneurs, and developers.

Intrinsic emerged from Alphabet X and has launched the "moonshot" project that helps self-driving car division Waymo and life sciences group Verily. Intrinsic is currently focusing on supporting a shift towards a more sustainable and equitable way of manufacturing and thereby facilitating low-cost production. The company is looking for partners in the automotive, electronics, and health care sectors who are already using industrial robotics.

Recent analysis and statistics show that currently, just 10 countries manufacture 70 percent of the world's goods. Meaning most things are made far away from their end consumers driving global transport emissions, and many countries and businesses miss out on economic opportunities. Intrinsic will overcome these challenges by making manufacturing easy and efficient.

Salesforce Raises Its Game by Reinventing New Modules for Hybrid Work

Many companies in recent times plan to continue remote or hybrid work into the future, but this raises new challenges for employee learning and development. Today, employees report fewer opportunities to develop their skills in remote work. Recent research conducted by Salesforce in cites shows that 59 percent of employees say they’ve had less access to workplace learning since the pandemic.

To overcome this and to improve employees’ skills Salesforce has traditionally offered its free training programs to mixed groups of their own employees as well as their customers’ employees. As a result, people looking for work in the Salesforce “ecosystem” could make useful contacts with its customers’ workforces. Salesforce recently has established a separate “Trailhead” unit to help employee’s training progression.

The product will also allow company’s employees to see their own Salesforce training record in a software platform called myTrailhead, and will allow the companies to add their own proprietary training to that platform. Salesforce’s new platform will make potential job candidates more widely visible, and there emerges a win-win situation among Salesforce, its developers, its technology partners, and also its customers.
